The Kiwanis Club of Charlton Alexandria (KCC-A), Jamaica, W.I. serves the community of Alexandria, St. Ann and its environs with pride. We have identified the need for establishing a playground that is safe, attractive and exciting, aimed at creating memorable moments especially for young children and their families. It is therefore our intention to erect a playground at the Charlton Infant School, an early childhood institution in the cool hills of Alexandria, St. Ann, Jamaica which serves approximately 150 children from 4 to 6 years of age in Alexandria and its neighbouring communities.
This playground will rekindle the spirit of playfulness and cheerfulness, add value to children’s lives, and provide a safe space for meaningful interactions. Such a powerful structure will also create opportunities for the community to engage playfully with the space through the implementation of various programmes. These programmes will assist with the development of cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills.
