The City of Las Vegas has 84 parks in the city, and only 9 parks with a special needs playground. If awarded, this playground will provide children with additional opportunities for physical, mental, and emotional health through the use of a newly built all inclusive playground added to our parks facilities. Playgrounds designed and built to engage every child that utilizes them.
The most recent ‘all-inclusive’ upgrade made in our city parks, includes a new sensory wall feature (attached) at the Gilcrease Brothers Park in northwest Las Vegas which caters to children with autism. It’s the first feature of its kind in a Las Vegas park. Additionally, some other recent all-inclusive features include Omni Spinners, a wheel-chair swing,(donated by our Kiwanis club) and wheelchair all-access ground features.
